Developers frequently store numerous starred "awesome-XYZ" repositories in their bookmarks, only to find many URLs broken or pointing to services that now demand corporate credentials or credit-card trials. Determining tools by licensing, free-tier limits, or recent repository activity often requires opening many tabs, while smaller open-source projects stay obscured behind larger corporate marketing.

To address this, the author's team launched a free, publicly available developer directory that eliminates paywalls and performs automated health checks on each listing. The service continuously monitors endpoint status and categorises resources by license, free-tier quotas and recent activity, simplifying discovery for freelancers and independent developers.
